Thank you for visiting Kristy Roberts Photography! I am located in a little village called Shelby tucked inside Oceana County Michigan. Scenic Lake Michigan,Silver Lake Sand Dunes and Pentwater are only minutes away.

Let me tell you...I Love what I do. Sometimes it's work, sometimes the hours in front of the computer can get long and tedious. But in the end, I love providing my clients with perfect portraits. My heart leaps when I put your baby's portraits on my computer and I see that I got an amazing image of your little one. When I have a bride that has a specific portrait she wants and I get it-I mean I really get it-perfection-lighting, posing, composition, the whole works, words cannot describe how exciting that is. It ROCKS! On the wedding day when the whole day comes together perfectly and in the end you have an awesome finished wedding album, I did my job and boy does that feel great. When I have a high school senior lady who is shy and maybe uncomfortable in front of the camera, I get a little smile and then voila she's doing it. When she sees her images and says "WOW... I never thought I was that pretty", or mom is tearing up because I have captured the beauty of her child. It doesn't get any better than that. Life is good and I give all the glory to God, for He is actually the ULTIMATE image maker!

Well I'm sure glad you came by my site. Take your time and look around. Hopefully you will get a feel of who I am and the type of photography I do. You might even see someone you know tucked in a page somewhere. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your needs, you can call, text or email me any time. I will try and respond within 48 hours.

    Have a smiley day,

Time for a Change, Closing Business

Thank you to all my clients for 8 years of generous business and referrals. I have been blessed to have shared so many treasured memories with so many people.  However, I am sorry to say Kristy Roberts Photography is closing as a business.  It has been a difficult decision but the one I feel God has guided me to make.  With an undiagnosed health condition the business is too much stress so I must step down.  I will still do some limited photography so, if you know me, or feel you “must” have me do some photography for you, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Daniel: Gaylord High School, Class of 2014

This was one of my awesome FUN sessions out at our beautiful state park.  (Silver Lake Dunes) We headed out as soon as it opened and I had the pleasure of seeing all the beauty around us.  This park is like a dessert with driftwood, dunes and our beautiful Lake Michigan.  Daniel really wanted some captures of him catching air riding his bike but his bike exhaust broke.  We made the best of it and still got some great images for him to remember this milestone in his life.  Daniel plans on going to college and is in the National Honor Society at his school.  I asked him if he was given 3 wishes what would they be?  His response…”that my dirt bike would always work!” :(  So sorry Daniel.  It was a bummer for me too!  Thank you for choosing me to capture these treasured photos!

Joey and Ashley…

What a beautiful day for a beach wedding!  Joey and Ashley wanted a small ceremony at Little Sable Point Lighthouse and they were going to do it rain or shine.  It was predicted heavy rain most of the day with a 95% chance during the ceremony time.  I asked Ashley what the back-up plan was and her response was “We don’t have one”  Yikes!  I packed my rain gear and off I went.  Well, everything was fine and the weather was great!  They finished off with a reception dinner at the Open Hearth Grill restaurant in Hart.  What a nice and relaxing day.  No stress, no hurry no worry…just getting married nothing more and nothing less. :)

What a glorious world we live in…

Had a senior session out at Little Sable Point this evening and it was so beautiful out.  After I was finished I decided to stay and see what kind of evening sky God was going to bless us with tonight…I’m sure glad I stayed cause I if didn’t, I would have missed this beautiful Lake Michigan scene.  It’s amazing to think that the same hands that created our world and this beautiful sky, cares about my every need!

When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars you set in place,
what are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them?
Psalm 8:3-4 (New Living Translation)

Boys and TOYS

Had a blast at this shoot.  These boys come to Silver Lake Sand Dunes Area every year, so it wasn’t odd that they wanted their senior pictures done here.  We started at Little Point Sable Light House,  made a pit stop to ride in the dunes then ended at Charles Mears State Park in Pentwater.  I live here and seldom get the experience of one of our biggest attractions – THE DUNES!  It seems I was miles away from anything but really in my own back yard.  We were blessed with blue skies, scattered white clouds and a cool breeze!  It’s so beautiful out there.  Simply amazing!  Thank you Aaron and Mitchell Class of 2014 and thank you Margaret for trusting me with these most treasured photos:)
